The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology of APMC Aklan, Inc, a tertiary hospital-based clinical laboratory offers a comprehensive array of clinical pathology, Blood Station and anatomic pathology services to aid the clinician’s in their prompt and accurate diagnosis, management and monitoring of patients and disease outcome.
The Clinical Pathology division includes Hematology, Clinical Microscopy, Clinical Chemistry, Serology, Immunology and Microbiology services.
We also have a Licensed Blood station for pre-transfusion testing and provision of blood or blood components for transfusion requirements.
The Anatomic Pathology Section is equipped with the state-of-the art automated histopathology set-up for processing biopsy samples, fluid cytology and cervical smears. APMC-Aklan also offers frozen section services for rapid intra-operative assessment and tissue diagnosis for cases with “diagnostic dilemma”. This is a first in the Province of Aklan.
